The Novae Terrae, volume 3 - second excerpt

"The Novae Terrae, volume 3: Clans War", by Bloodwitch Luz Oscuria

This is the second excerpt from my novel, "The Novae Terrae, volume 3 : Clans War", in its version translated by Andreea Mirică.

Gerhardt found it hard to believe Aleksis when Aleksis told him he knew what he was talking about when he told him about the Hunters’ Record Book. Because since he had almost got his hands on it a century earlier, he had never found a trace of it again. And now, a complete stranger who followed him by the greatest of luck explains to him that the title of this work is not new to him, and even the name of the family who owned it at the time is not unknown to him. But he has already been through so much that deep down, the surprise no longer seems so astonishing to him now.

Aleksis just offered to follow him home, because he would have ‘someone’ to introduce him to. Gerhardt does not know if the idea of going with this man is good, but he realises that if he wants to get any chance of finding the slightest clue as to the record book he has been looking for so long, he is going to have to show a minimum of trust. So, he does not hesitate that much to accept his guest’s offer, and they both leave the hotel room.

Aleksis, on his part, is happy to have found someone who could prove to be a great ally for him and Eleonore. He cannot wait to introduce this man to her and to know what she thinks of this unexpected encounter. He who had gone out just to eat, would not have thought to have a clash that could be of help. Once they arrived at the castle, Aleksis enters, triumphantly, before inviting Gerhardt to enter in his turn. The latter seems impressed by the place, but especially by the woman who appears in front of them a few seconds later.

“What are you doing?” she asks Aleksis. “And who is this man?”

“This is Gerhardt,” replies Aleksis. “He does not seem to be of the slightest interest to us, but you need to listen to what he has to say.”
